BED & NATURE
Vesteraas Bed & Nature COTTAGES
( 61 28 62 52; www.vesteraas.dk ; Voderup 41; cottage Dkr750-1250; May-Sep)
A young family runs this sustainable farm (raising grass-fed cattle) in a lush, view-blessed
area where cows and chickens roam. Two atmospheric, family-friendly self-contained cot-
tages are available here, sleeping up to six. One is in the stylishly converted old stables,
and one is in a magnificent 'greenhouse', of sorts (part of which spies on the cowshed in-
terior).
These are unique, creative and restful options where the appeal of rural escape becomes
crystal clear - in peak of summer, the rental period is generally one week. Vesteraas is in
Voderup, signposted off the main road from the hamlet Vindeballe - it's about 8km
southwest of Ærøskøbing.
