On Fridays and Saturdays, host Christine serves fabulous Scandinavian dinners (two
courses Dkr195) at a communal table in the converted milking room. On all other nights,
she offers a simpler 'biker's supper' (from Dkr130). The guesthouse lies 9.5km southwest

Trainers and cardiologists don't exist in the world of Damme Kro, a fantastically old-
school Danish inn where the Béarnaise sauce is thick and the herring served with a side of
lard. Slip into dining rooms adorned with old flasks, pot plants and Poul Henningsen
lamps and tuck into faithful, delicious classics like fried eel with boiled potato in white
wine sauce, hash with fried egg, and golden schnitzels.
From Stege, catch bus 684, which stops right in front of the inn.
Bogø
The island of Bogø, west of Møn, is somewhere you pass through on the way to some-
where else. It's connected to Møn by a causeway, and to Zealand and Falster via the im-
pressive Farø bridges.
Bicycles are not allowed on the Farø bridges, so cyclists need to take the summer-only
car ferry ( 30 53 24 28; www.idas-venner.dk ; one way adult/child 25/15kr, car/bicycle 65/20kr;
May-mid-Sep) that shuttles between southern Bogø and Stubbekøbing in Falster. Ferries
run from Bogø hourly between 9.15am and 6.15pm, and from Stubbekøbing between 9am
and 6pm. From early to mid-May, ferries from Bogø run from 10.15am to 2.15pm, and
from Stubbekøbing between 10am and 1.30pm.
