If it's peace you're after, Nyord B&B has your name all over its farmhouse walls. Owned
by affable ex-sailor Niels Andreasen and his family, it's snugly set in Møn's only car-free
village, opposite the equally cosy Lollesgård restaurant. The eight white rooms are simple,
clean and comfortable, two with private toilets and none with TVs. Breakfast is an extra
Dkr75. Cash only.

Anja Hansen's criminally cosy restaurant showcases top-notch regional produce, from sea-
food and beef, to charcuterie, cheeses and vegetables. Seasonality and natural flavours
define the menu, which might include Lollesgård's famous fried eels with new potatoes
and parsley sauce (Dkr340). Lighter lunch dishes include smørrebrød.
Keldby
The Keldby area, about 5km east of Stege, is notable mainly for the superb frescoes in its
roadside church. There's also a small farm museum a few kilometres south of Rte 287.

Keldby Kirke CHURCH
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; Rte 287; 8am-4.45pm)
Some of Denmark's most splendid frescoes are splashed across the walls and ceiling of
Keldby's 13th-century brick church. The oldest (1275) decorate the chancel walls. An im-
pressive Judgment Day scene, where the saved join the saints and the damned descend into
a devil-filled hell, dates from around 100 years later. It's a theme also visited by the 15th-
century 'Elmelunde master', whose cool-faced figures are found all over the soaring
arches.
