Fredensborg's hostel occupies a prime location just 300m south of the Fredensborg Slot.
There are no dorms here - most of its 88 beds are in double rooms (all with washbasin or
toilet). Best of all is the large, secluded garden.

It's hard to imagine a more idyllic setting for alfresco dining than this restaurant on Esrum
Sø. Many of the ingredients are organic, with herbs and vegetables picked fresh from the
nearby palace garden. Whether it's new asparagus with poached eggs, herbs and crisp
ryebread, or lobster and fish served with brown butter and seasonal vegetables, expect
fresh, nuanced flavours and thoughtful presentation.
Consider booking ahead if heading in for dinner.
