largest city, Malmö, is just 35 minutes away by train from Copenhagen Central Station via
the majestic Øresund Fixed Link bridge and tunnel.

Modern art fans won't regret making the trip out to the outstanding Arken Museum of
Modern Art. The art museum's fine collection of post-1945 art includes several Warhols,
works by Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst, as well as creations by celebrated contemporary
Danish artists such as Per Kirkeby, Asger Jorn, Jesper Just and Olafur Eliasson. There's
plenty to keep children intrigued, too, including the wonderful sandy beach outside.
To get here from Copenhagen, take the S-train southwest to Ishøj station, then bus 128
from there.
Charlottenlund
Charlottenlund is a salubrious coastal suburb just beyond the northern outskirts of Copen-
hagen. Despite being so close to the city, it has a decent sandy beach . Its other attraction
is a fine art gallery.

Architect Zaha Hadid's slinky glass-and-stone extension put Ordrupgaard on the interna-
tional map, but this petite art museum, housed in an early-20th-century manor house north
of Copenhagen, has always had an enviable collection of 19th- and 20th-century art. The
museum also incorporates the former home of pioneering 20th-century Danish designer
