Close to Kongens Nytorv, Klassik Moderne Møbelkunst is Valhalla for lovers of Danish
design, with a trove of classics from greats like Poul Henningsen, Hans J Wegner, Arne Ja-
cobsen, Finn Juhl and Nanna Ditzel - in other words, a veritable museum of Scandinavian
furniture from the mid-20th century.

Fresh from a major makeover, Illum is CPH's answer to Selfridges or Bloomingdales. That
said, the range of fashion is rather stock standard, with mainly mainstream local and inter-
national brands. Nordic labels worth looking out for include Stine Goya, Dagmar, Filippa
K, Acne, Whyred and Won Hundred. The store's renovated atrium is the work of renowned
Italian architect Claudio Silvestrin.

The city's largest (and oldest) department store covers an entire block on the southwestern
side of Kongens Nytorv. Beyond the global fashion brands are a handful of savvy local la-
bels, including Mads Nørgaard, Henrik Vibskov, and Baum und Pferdgarten. Head to the
basement for the city's best range of international magazines.
