KBIII is the biggest club in the kicking Kødbyen (Meat City) district, aptly occupying a
giant former meat freezer. Although events span film screenings, live acts, burlesque and
release parties, the emphasis is on thumping club tunes from resident and global DJs, with
past deck guests including Just Blaze and Secondcity. Come summer, the club's backyard
is a buzzing party spot.
Entertainment
Copenhagen is home to thriving live-music and club scenes that span intimate jazz and
blues clubs, to mega rock venues and secret clubs dropping experimental beats. Block-
buster cultural venues such as Operaen (Copenhagen Opera House) and Skuespilhuset
(Royal Danish Playhouse) deliver top-tier opera and theatre, while cinemas screen both
mainstream and art-house flicks. Note: many nightspots don't get the party started until
11pm or midnight.
Most events can be booked through Billetnet ( 70 15 65 65; www.billetnet.dk ) , which has
an outlet at Tivoli. You can also try Billetlugen ( 70 26 32 67; www.billetlugen.dk ) .
For listings, scan www.aok.dk (mostly in Danish).
Cinemas
First-release movies are shown on about 20 screens in the group of cinemas along Vester-
brogade between Rådhuspladsen and Central Station. Tickets for movies range from
around Dkr70 for weekday matinees to around Dkr90 for weekend evenings. As in the rest
of Denmark, movies are generally shown in their original language with Danish subtitles.
