If your accountant forbids dinner at Kadeau, opt for its bistro spin-off, Pony. While the
New Nordic grub here is simpler, it's no less stunning, with palate-punching marvels like
tartar with black trumpet mushrooms, blackberries and mushroom broth, or lemon sole
with cauliflower, pickled apples, kale, almonds and capers. The vibe is convivial and in-
timate. Book ahead, especially on Friday and Saturday.

Another Kødbyen favourite, this pâté factory-turned-restaurant/wine bar gives Euro clas-
sics modern twists. While the menu changes daily, signature dishes include refreshing bur-
rata with roasted peach, pesto, chilli and browned butter, and earthy grilled piglet with
mojo rojo, sobrasada (raw cured sausage), borlotti beans and grilled carrots. Hip and bust-
ling, yet utterly convivial, bonus extras include clued-in staff, a well-versed wine list, and
solo-diner-friendly bar seating.

Finding its muse in the Danish bars of yesteryear, this basement factory-turned-noshery
uses every part of the animal to cook up honest, rustic fare served on wooden chopping
blocks. The menu is short and seasonal, the produce mainly local and organic, and the vibe
equally cool and cosy - think candlelight flickering on white industrial tiles, old Danish
crockery, and crooked old photos.
In the warmer months, long collective tables are set outside, with industrial Kødbyen
your gritty, evocative backdrop.
