In a converted 19th-century warehouse, the appealing Strand overlooks Copenhagen Har-
bour. Rooms are classically styled in wood, brass and shades of royal blue. Standard
rooms are smallish but cosy; the executive rooms and suites come with harbour views.

Conveniently plonked to the rear of Nyhavn and overlooking the harbour, Front is light,
bright and sexed-up with a bold colour scheme (although the orange carpets that grace
some rooms are probably best avoided). Admittedly, the rooms are looking a little worn
these days, though we do love the pebble-floored bathrooms, amiable staff and handy little
on-site gym.

Housed in a striking 200-year-old canalside warehouse, atmospheric 71 Nyhavn offers
great views of both the harbour and Nyhavn canal. Rooms facing Nyhavn are quite small,
while those without the magical view compensate with more space. The hotel is popular
with business travellers, and therefore can be a bargain on weekends.
