Urbane SP34 is one of Copenhagen's newest boutique options. Tans and subtle pastels un-
derline the communal areas, among them a plush, light-drenched lounge, Modernist-in-
spired reading room, and svelte lobby bar. The 118 rooms keep things smart and simple,
with slate-coloured walls, muted accents and REN bathroom amenities. Nibble on organic
produce at breakfast, and sip complimentary vino between 5pm and 6pm.

Hitting the scene in 1755, the neoclassical d'Angleterre is Copenhagen's most glamorous
slumber palace. Fresh from an ambitious facelift, it's once again fit for royalty and mere
mortal sybarites. Regal portraits, fireplaces and Art Nouveau flourishes keep things suit-
ably posh in the public areas, while the hotel's rooms and suites deliver contemporary
twists on classic luxury, with powdery accents, luxurious fabrics, and marble bathrooms.
The hotel's rebirth also includes an extraordinary, 2,000-square-foot tile-and-marble
pool, part of the hotel's luxury spa. Other hotel perks include the city's first dedicated
champagne bar, and Michelin-starred nosh spot Marchal.

Admittedly, the design-conscious Skt Petri is showing a little wear and tear in parts. That
said, rooms remain comfortable, their neutral tones sexed up with boldly coloured bedhead
art panels. Request a room on level four or higher for the best outlook. Sweat it out in the
fitness centre or throw diet to the wind at the hotel's trendy bread-and-beer concept bar.
