You can also drag the selected content into a blank area of the Symbols
panel to create a symbol.

In the Symbol Options dialog box, change the name to
Sailboat
and choose
Graphic as the Type. Click OK to create the symbol.
Tip
By default, the selected artwork becomes an instance of the new symbol.
If you don't want the artwork to become an instance of the symbol, press
the Shift key as you create the new symbol.
In the Symbol Options dialog box, you will see a note that explains that there is no
difference between a Movie Clip and a Graphic Type in Illustrator, and so if you
do not plan on exporting this content to Adobe Flash, you don't need to worry
about choosing a Type.
