You may want to zoom in (Command++ [Mac OS] or Ctrl++ [Windows]) to make
it easier to select.

Choose View > Preview.

Drag the smaller shape roughly into the center of the larger shape and you will see
the blend change.

Choose Select > Deselect and press the Escape key to exit Isolation mode.
