2. Select the Rectangle tool ( ) in the Tools panel and click anywhere in the Docu-
ment window. In the Rectangle dialog box, change the Width to 15 in and the
Height to 2 in . Click OK to create a rectangle.
Note
The Transform panel group may open after clicking OK in the Rectangle
dialog box. You can close the panel group if it does.
Since the units for the document are set to inches, you don't need to enter the “in.”
3. Click the Gradient panel icon ( ) to open the panel. Ensure that the Fill box is
selected, click the Gradient menu arrow (
), and then select “White, Black.”
Note
Depending on your screen resolution, you may need to click the word
“Align” in the Control panel to access the Align panel.
4. Select the Selection tool ( ) and choose Align To Artboard from the Align To
menu in the Control panel (if necessary). Click the Horizontal Align Center button
(
) and the Vertical Align Bottom button (
) to align the rectangle to the center
and bottom of the artboard.
