4. Select the Type tool ( ), and click in the white area in the upper-left corner of the
artboard. The cursor appears on the artboard. Type ZOO TALES (in uppercase).
By simply clicking with the Type tool, you create a point type object.
Note
Point type that is scaled may not be a whole number (such as 12 pt).
5. Select the Selection tool ( ) in the Tools panel, and notice the bounding box that
appears around the text. Drag the right, middle bounding point ( NOT the circle), to
the right. Notice that the text stretches as you drag any bounding point.
6. Choose Edit > Undo Scale, and then choose View > Fit Artboard In Window.
Adding area type
Area type uses the boundaries of an object (like a rectangle) to control the flow of char-
acters, either horizontally or vertically. When the text reaches a boundary, it automatically
wraps to fit inside the defined area. Entering text in this way is useful when you want to
create one or more paragraphs, such as for a poster or a brochure.
