reserve estimation for specific local structures based on seismic (determi-
nation of the areal extent) and first exploratory and appraisal wells in case
they have all or part of the needed parameters.
The following conclusion was formulated based on the studies per-
formed in this chapter:
Multiple correlations of hydrocarbon reserve density with a set of geo-
tectonic, hydrodynamical and thermobaric parameters separately for the
Alpine intermontane depressions and foredeep troughs as a whole are the
objective reality (the respective correlation ratios are 0.815 and 0.788).
This strongly supports the existence, realization and commonality of their
definitive mechanism, vertical fluid-mass-transfer within each of the stated
structural elements. It also establishes, in a general case, its dominant role
in the formation of oil and gas occurrences in all Alpine mobile belt zones
regardless of their tectonic type.
