Figure 3.13 Formation pressure abnormality factor vs. sediment cover thickness. See
Figure 3.8 for symbols.
found on the local highs in least faulted, hydrodynamicly-
isolated (drainage-restricted) tectonic steps, fault-blocks
and areas.
10. Maximum formation pressure excess over the hydrostatic
and maximum formation pressure abnormality values are
typical of mostly water-saturated intervals, fault-blocks and
areas on productive structures and in “wet” (water-bearing)
traps with restricted discharge volume of injected and syn-
genetically abnormal waterhead agents hydraulically iso-
lated from drainage zones.
11. Average for the sediment cover formation pressure abnor-
mality factor is most generic parameter of the geobaric
field stress. It is continuously and regularly increases with
the growth in the sediment cover thickness (Figure 3.13).
Minimum abnormality values corresponding with the con-
ditions of the current water-exchange are typical of the
territories where basement is closest to the surface; hence,
with minimum length of migration channels and minimum
hydraulic resistivity for the vertical inter-formational water
cross-flows.
12. In all regions, zones and local areas, AHFP is spatially asso-
ciated with hydrochemical, temperature, isotope, palyno-
logical and other anomalies of clearly cross-flow origin.
