Sam Walton's original variety store, now The Walmart Museum, chronicles the history of
the Walton family, particularly Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, and the meteoric rise
of the big-box retailer on the world's stage. It features interactive displays and one-of-a-
kind exhibits, making it an interesting and fun activity for families and Walmart employees
to enjoy.
View America's past by visiting one of the South's most comprehensive collections of Nat-
ive American Artifacts. Make it a point to see this unique museum while in the area.
The Peel Mansion and Heritage Gardens, built by Colonel Samuel West Peel and his wife
Mary Emaline Berry Peel, is a wonderful example of a Civil War-era home. It is available
for tours and events.
Parks and Trails
The Bentonville Trail system is made up of three looped trails that connect and meander
through three beautiful parks: Lake Bella Vista, Memorial Park and Park Springs Park.
There are also seven linear bikeways and pedestrian paths. For the mountain bikers, there
is an all-terrain bike trail. Additionally, there are numerous on-road bike routes. In all, there
is a network amounting to over 20 trail miles.
