THINGS TO DO AND SEE
If you've been reading my guide from the first page, you already know that there are tons of
amazing things to do in Bentonville, AR. If you skipped to this page, no problem, I'm going
to talk about them again!
Business brings many to Bentonville. The Walmart and Sam's Club headquarters are located
in Bentonville, as are the offices for the many vendors that supply the retail giants.
The Walmart Visitor's Center is located on the town square in the old original Walmart vari-
ety store and historically traces the origin and growth of this unsurpassed American business
success story.
Sam Walton's old pickup truck is on display in the center, along with many other fascinating
pieces of Walmart and Sam Walton memorabilia. During Walmart's shareholder's meeting,
typically held in June, the center is mobbed, so plan ahead.
Today, a vast majority come to Bentonville to see the world-class attractions. Within walking
distance of downtown Bentonville and close to many of the Bentonville hotels, is the re-
cently opened Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art spearheaded by Alice Walton,
daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton.
This beautiful and unique repository already ranks among the top museums in the world and
will eventually house famous American art totaling in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Its breathtaking setting includes two creek-fed ponds, nature trails and a sculpture garden.
The grounds will also include room for public events and concerts. The complex proper will
have 217,000 square feet of galleries, several class and meeting rooms, and a library.
Visitors from around the world and all across America are visiting this amazing world-class
art museum. Crystal Bridges alone is reason enough to visit the Northwest Arkansas area.
