3,4EN (Pin 9):
This pin is used to enable or disable the right driver. Because
you will not be using the right driver, you can disable it by connecting
this pin directly to GND.
For reference, confirm your wiring with Figure 4-7. Keep the potentiometer
wired as it was before.

You can confirm that the circuit is working before you program it by hooking
up the enable pin to 5V, hooking up one of the
A
pins to ground, and the other
A
pin to 5V. You can reverse direction by swapping what the
A
pins are connected to.
