In-Depth Information
Every tweak to each component is recorded as a sequence. When
you tweak multiple components in one step, those components are
included in the same sequence. Sequences are numbered in reverse
order; the highest-numbered one was done fi rst.
What's great is that you can remove any component from a
sequence and, if you like, add it to another sequence.
Let's make some modifi cations and see the effects.
7. Select the last tweak in the list, hold the Shift key, and click the fi rst
tweak listed in Sequence 3.
8. When all the tweaks are highlighted, pick the Group button that
becomes available.
9. Click the Apply button.
10. Reduce the dialog, and pick the Play Forward button. Click Reset
after the animation is fi nished.
As you saw, the screws moved in one action with the grill. Let's
make another change to the order.
11. Expand the Animation dialog again.
12. Hold the Ctrl key, pick the two sequences of the V-belt, and click Group.
13. Select the V-belts again, and click the Move Down button.
Doing so reorders the steps so that the pulleys become the fi rst
components to assemble themselves.
14. Click Apply, minimize the dialog, and play the animation again. Click
Reset when you're done.
15. Click the Cancel button to close the dialog.
16. Save the fi le.
NOTE A really fun way of manipulating sequence groupings is to add a
rotational tweak on a bolt and then group the rotational tweak and the trans-
lational tweak together to show the bolt turning into place.
Let's move on to changing the view of the sequences.
