Creating a New Drawing
For this exercise you'll just add a single drawing view in a new fi le.
1. Create a new drawing fi le using the Inventor NER.dwg template.
2. Start the Base tool, and either select Fan.iam from the pull-down in
the dialog or browse to it in the C:\Data\Assemblies folder.
3. In the dialog, set Level of Detail to Envelope Suppressed.
4. Set Orientation to Iso Top Right
5. Set Scale to .25 and Style to Shaded. See Figure 9.1.

6. Select the Display Options tab in the dialog, and deselect the Tangent
Edges check box.
7. Pick the drawing sheet to place the view.
As you can see, the visible lines generated for the drawing make it
diffi cult to see through the grill. To fi x this you'll use your good old
friend the layer.
8. After the view generates, move it onto the sheet.
9. Switch to the Annotate tab, and pick the Edit Layers tool from the
Format panel.
