Adding a Rule Fillet
Let's use this tool in a simple example:
1. Start the Rule Fillet tool from the Plastic Features panel of the
Model tab.
2. Because a rule fi llet is feature based, you must select a feature to
affect. Pick the Sweep feature and the circular pattern.
Doing so creates a fi llet preview (Figure 7.33) on both ends of the
Sweep feature. The rule that is being applied is the selected feature
Against Part. So, anywhere this feature meets the rest of the part,
it's applying the Radius value.

3. Leave the Radius value at .1, and click OK to create the fi llet.
4. Let's fi nd a new color for the pulley — something to make it stand
out a bit. Pick something different from pull-down on the Quick
Access toolbar.
5. Switch to the Fan.iam window to see that your changes to the model
have already updated the assembly.
6. Switch back to the pulley model.
