FIGURE 7.17 Dragging the belt to the nearest purchasable size
If you want to edit components created by a design accelerator, you can't
double-click or use the right-click Edit operation that you normally use. These
techniques allow you to edit the models of the design accelerator components
but not access the methodology or intelligence.
To edit a design accelerator's intelligence, you select the geometry from
the Browser or Design window and select Edit Using Design Accelerator from the
context menu. This brings up the design accelerator dialog used to defi ne the
component; now you can use the dialog for editing.
Editing the V-Belt
In this case, you don't want to modify the V-belt — you want to validate it to see
if you need to modify it:
1. Right-click the V-belt, and select Edit Using Design Accelerator from
the context menu.
2. Switch to the Calculation tab.
3. In the Power fi eld, set the value to .33 .
4. Put 1200 rpm in the Speed fi eld.
