If you're used to the look and feel of Microsoft Word or Excel 2007, you should
fi nd a lot of similarities with the standard tools in Inventor. If you're experienced
with recent versions of AutoCAD, you'll fi nd similarities with the drawing and
sketching tool icons in Inventor.
Application Menu
Across the top of the Inventor application is the title bar. It tells you the name of
the fi le you're currently editing; or, if you're just starting out, it reminds you that
you're using Autodesk Inventor and which version.
In the upper-left corner is a large icon with an I on it. This is Inventor's ver-
sion of the Microsoft Offi ce 2007 Offi ce button; clicking it opens the Application
menu (Figure 1.3). The menu contains the primary fi le-modifi cation tools, a
printing option, and a list of recent documents.
