AIR
From Bodø's airport, southwest of the city centre, there are at least 10 daily flights to Oslo,
Trondheim and Tromsø. Other destinations in northern Norway include Leknes, Narvik,
Harstad and Mo i Rana.
BOAT
Bodø is a stop on the Hurtigruten coastal ferry ( GOOGLE MAP ) .
Car ferries ( GOOGLE MAP ) sail five to six times daily in summer (less frequently dur-
ing the rest of the year) between Bodø and Moskenes on Lofoten (car including driver/pas-
senger Nkr646/180, three to 3½ hours). If you're taking a car in summer, avoid a potential
long wait in line by booking in advance (an additional Nkr100; online reservation at
www.torghatten-nord.no ).
Most days, at least one ferry calls in at the southern Lofoten islands of Røst and Værøy.
There's also an express passenger ferry ( GOOGLE MAP ) between Bodø and Svolvær
(adult/child Nkr366/183, 3¾ hours) once daily.
BUS
Buses ( GOOGLE MAP ) run to/from Narvik (Nkr280, 6½ hours) via Fauske (Nkr90, one
hour) twice daily, with extra services to/from Fauske.
TRAIN
Main destinations from Bodø:
Fauske Nkr128, 45 minutes, up to eight daily
Mosjøen Nkr625; 4¼ hours, two to three daily
Mo i Rana Nkr469, three hours, two to four daily
Trondheim Nkr1059, 9¾ hours, two daily
Getting Around
Local buses cost Nkr40 per ride. The tourist office rents bikes from Nkr100 per day.
