This lovely option with its small beach beside a constructed lake is great for children.
Around 10km southwest of Brønnøysund, it's handy for an ascent of the Torghatten peak.

The 22-room Galeasen sits right beside the quay and runs a small restaurant. Ask for a
room in the more recent main building, not the less-attractive annexe, which occupies a
converted fish-processing plant.

Brønnøysund's tourist office is one block from the Hurtigruten quay. It rents bicycles
(Nkr175 per day).
Getting There & Away
Widerøe ( www.wideroe.no ) flies to Brønnøysund from Trondheim, Oslo and Bergen;
the most common approach route passes right over Torghatten and the azure seas that
lap around it.
Up to three buses run between Brønnøysund and Sandnessjøen (Nkr275, 3½ hours,
daily except Sunday) and to/from Mosjøen (three hours, once or twice daily except
Saturday).
Brønnøysund is also a port for the Hurtigruten coastal ferry.
Vega

The island of Vega remains a very Norwegian destination (we were the only non-nationals
on our ferry journeys to and from the island). It and the more than 6000 skerries, islets and
simply large rocks that form the Vega archipelago are a Unesco World Heritage Site. This
