( GOOGLE MAP ; 91 39 06 18; www.fremover.no )
This outfit mounts summer fishing and sea-eagle viewing trips. From November to mid-
January, when the orcas (killer whales) gather to gorge themselves on the winter herring
run, it runs trips to their feeding grounds in search of the action. Prices vary with the sea-
sons and the tour.
Narvik Golfklubb GOLF
( 97 14 60 82; www.narvikgolf.no ; all-day/9-hole pass Kkr400/250)
The fjord-side journey to this unique golf course at Skjomendalen is wondrous (follow the
signs to Skjomdal just before the Skjomen bridge on the E6, about 18km south of town).
Sheer, treacherous faces will leave you guessing how there could possibly be a golf course
here. Yet nature works wonders, and there's a valley hidden amid the peaks. There's also
worthwhile hiking nearby.
Festivals & Events
On the last Saturday in June, some 2000 walkers take the train to various stops along the
Rallarveien, then hike back to party at Rombaksbotn.
Vinterfestuka MUSIC, FESTIVAL
( www.vinterfestuka.no ; Mar)
Each year during March, Narvik holds its Vinterfestuka, an action-packed winter week of
events, partly in commemoration of the navvies who built the railway.
