Mo i Rana's Røssvoll airport, 14km northeast of town, has flights to/from Bodø and
Trondheim. You'll enjoy an excellent panorama of the Svartisen icecaps unless it's misty
down below.
By bus ( GOOGLE MAP ) , options are fairly limited. There are one to three daily services
to/from both Sandnessjøen (2¾ hours) and Mosjøen (1¾ hours). At least one bus of Län-
strafiken ( www.tabussen.nu ) runs daily between Mo i Rana and Umeå (eight hours) in
Sweden.
Most visitors arrive at Mo i Rana's attractive octagonal train station (

rents bicycles.

The most accessible and most visited of the caves around Mo is 22km north of town.
There's electric lighting (it's the only illuminated tourist cave in Scandinavia). The
30-minute tour takes you along an underground river, through a rock maze, then past a
granite block torn off by a glacier and deposited in the cave by the brute force of moving
water.
