Torget Fish Market FISH MARKET
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; Rosenkildetorget; mains Nkr269;
market 9am-4.30pm Mon-Sat, restaur-
ant 11am-9pm Mon-Wed, 11am-midnight Thu-Sat)
With just a tiny wet market, this place is not a patch on the Bergen version. The prime wa-
terfront restaurant, however, does a good changing menu of entrees such as tuna tataki
(Nkr169) and has a super fresh catch of the day. It's also a favoured after-work watering
hole.
Drinking & Nightlife
We can only scratch the surface of Stavanger's surfeit of places to drink, dance and stay
out late; the waterfront bar strip is loud, brash and perpetually busy, especially in the
warmer months, and is definitely not hard to find.
Bøker & Børst CAFE, BAR
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; Øvre Holmegate 32; 10am-2am)
There are many little cafes beckoning in the lanes climbing the hillside west of the oil mu-
seum, but our favourite is book-clad Bøker & Børst, with its bohemian decor, good coffee
and Stavanger's most interesting crowd, day or night.
Renaa Xpress CAFE
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; Breitorget 6, enter from Steinkargata)
Not to be confused with Renaa Xpress Sølvberget, this little cafe sits at the back of the
glass-roofed arcade, up the stairs from the other two Renaa outfits. It's a great spot to soak
up the sun in the company of Stavanger's stylish mums and babes with great coffee and
brownies.
Sjokoladepiken CAFE
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.sjokoladepiken.no ; Øvre Holmegate 27;
10am-10pm Mon-Thu, 10am-
midnight Fri & Sat, 11.30am-9pm Sun)
