The Jugendstil-era Tyssedal Hotel has terrific rooms with parquet floors and stylish fit-
tings. Norwegian ghosts seem to have a penchant for hotels: Eidfjord artist Nils Bergslien
'visits' the ground and 3rd floors. His earthly legacy, some fantastic fairy-tale and Hard-
angerfjord landscape paintings, also grace the hotel.
The restaurant (lunch Nkr79-99, dinner Nkr229-299) is Odda's best.
Trolltunga Hotel GUESTHOUSE
( 55 09 28 00; www.trolltungahotel.no ; Vasstun 1, Odda; s/d Nkr990/1300, with shared bathroom
Nkr710/905; )
There are 27 recently refurbished rooms at this personal, welcoming hotel close to Odda
Camping at the far southern end of town. The rooms are modern, if a little spartan, and
some have magnificent lake views.
