2pm-1.30am Sun-Thu, 2pm-2.30am Fri
& Sat)
Possibly Bergen's best student bar, this laid-back, hipster-embracing place is friendly and
fun. There's Tuesday grill nights, sausages whenever and DJs upstairs who know their
audience's tastes very well indeed.
Don Pippo
WINE BAR
This fabulous European-style charmer draws a bubbly, sophisticated crowd. Staff open dif-
ferent bottles for wine-by-the-glass choices each day and the Italian selections are particu-
larly strong. Mop up the vino with platters of local and imported meats and cheese
(Nkr135) or hearty sourdough sandwiches (Nkr89). And, just because this is Norway, after
all, there's a pancake buffet on Sundays.
Ujevnt
WINE BAR
You might find yourself in this moody little bar one afternoon, nursing a pint of the excel-
lent Voss Bryggeri nut brown ale on tap, but it's hard not to stay around and have them mix
you up a cocktail once the music's turned up and the beautiful people arrive.
Café Opera
CAFE, CLUB
By day, Café Opera has a literary-cafe feel, though on the weekends, there's also a rota of
DJs and a crowd that likes to pump up the jams. When the sun's out, its outside tables are
some of the nicest in town to while a way a few hours.
Fincken
CLUB
A welcoming gay club that has huge weekend nights with house, pop, pure disco and
Latino beats keeping the mixed crowd happy. You need to be over 20 on weekends.
