In-Depth Information
Bergen's cable car ascends to the radio tower and cafe atop Mt Ulriken (642m), offering a
fine panoramic view of the city and surrounding fjords and mountains. An antique shuttle
bus to the cable-car lower station leaves every half-hour from the Torget fish market from
9am to 9pm mid-May to September. Otherwise, it's a 45-minute walk from the centre or a
short bus ride (bus 2, 31, 50).
For locals, a perfect day out is taking the cable car up and then following the marked
trail north (four to six hours) to the top of the Fløibanen funicular.
