With old photos of Røros and traditional decor, you might be forgiven for imagining this to
be a bastion of traditional cooking, but this being modern Norway, it's mostly about pizza.
Of more interest is its garden barbecue buffet served from 5pm Thursday to Sunday
throughout the summer (weather depending). Its outdoor tables have views up this historic
street.

Lunch dishes here include fairly standard soup, sandwiches and burgers, but from 4pm on-
wards the food is exquisite - the tenderest fillets of reindeer or elk, as well as Arctic char
and desserts such as 'blue cheese and pear marinated in cinnamon, walnuts in honey and
balsamico'. In short, it's one of the region's finest eating experiences. Book ahead.
