Getting There & Away
Nor-Way Bussekspress (Haukeliekspressen) buses connect Seljord with Notodden
(Nkr160, 1¼ hours) and Oslo (Nkr390, 3¼ hours) up to four times daily.
Setesdalen
The forested hillsides and lake-filled mountain valleys of Setesdalen, one of Norway's
most traditional and conservative regions, remain little frequented by travellers, although
the area has recently begun to lure a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts.
Evje
Pop 3300
The riverside town of Evje, surrounded by forests and rolling hills, serves as the southern
gateway to Setesdalen. It's famous among geologists for the variety of rocks - a mineral
park and the chance to prospect for your own rocks are among Evje's primary attractions.
This town is also a first-class base for white-water rafting and other activities.

Budding geologists will find plenty to get excited about in Evje. This small museum, 2km
