Grand Hotell HISTORIC HOTEL
( 38 32 23 55; www.grand-hotell.no ; Anders Beersgt 9; s/d from Nkr1095/1295; )
The Grand Hotell sits perfectly in this old town. Housed in a delightful castle-like timber
building, rooms have been smartly updated but retain a historic character with hand-prin-
ted wallpaper, velvet sofas and festoon drapes. It's subtly done, but if you don't fancy the
period look, there's a number of straightforward modern rooms too. The restaurant and pub
are charming.
Maritim Fjordhotell HOTEL
( 38 32 58 00; www.fjordhotellene.no ; Sundegaten 9; s/d Nkr949/1199)
Flekkefjord's largest hotel has an absolute waterfront position, stylish rooms, a sunny ter-
race bar and a decent restaurant (mains from Nkr149), although the exterior architecture is
about as brutal as it can be.
Eating
Pizza Inn PIZZA
( 38 32 22 22; Elvegata 22; pizzas/pastas from Nkr179/229, mains Nkr140-215)
This pleasant, pub-like harbour-side restaurant has breezy outdoor tables at which to pass a
summer's afternoon or cosy booths for a winter's evening. The service is good, as is the
food, which is not all of the pizza variety. The prawn salad (Nkr119) contains a good pro-
portion of the Atlantic Ocean's prawns.
Fiskebrygga INTERNATIONAL
(
38 32 04 90; Elvegata 9; mains Nkr149-210;
10am-4pm Mon, Tue & Sat, to 6pm Wed & Fri, to
7pm Thu)
Possibly the nicest place in Flekkefjord for a light meal, this cafe-style restaurant next to
the tourist office serves fish and chips, marinated spare ribs, delicious cakes and ice cream.
