Ferries to Denmark and Sweden leave from the Colour Line Terminal.
BUS
There's a bus information office and left-luggage facilities inside the bus station. Note,
most local buses, including those to Lillesand, Grimstad and Arendal leave from central
Henrik Wergelands gate, rather than the bus station.
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
With a vehicle, access to the E18, north of the centre, is via Vestre Strandgate; when arriv-
ing you'll most likely find yourself along Festningsgata. Once in Kristiansand, you'll no-
tice it's possibly the most traffic-light blighted town in the whole of Norway. There's street
parking outside the pedestrianised centre.
TRAIN
There are up to four trains daily to Oslo (Nkr299 to Nkr677, 4½ hours) and up to five to
Stavanger (Nkr249 to Nkr474, 3¼ hours).
Getting Around
Unlike many Norwegian towns, Kristiansand is flat and the downtown area is easily nego-
tiable on foot. The Agder Taxis ( GOOGLE MAP ;

station is the best bet for the airport.
Around Kristiansand
In summer, Kristiansand's archipelago of offshore skerries becomes a popular destination
for sea-and-sun adventure. The most popular island, Bragdøya , lies close to the mainland
