In-Depth Information
It might not have waterfront views, but this typical Thon is just 50m from the water's edge.
Bland on the exterior, the rooms are modern, large and comfortable. There's a public pay
carpark nearby.
Eating & Drinking
There's no need to stray too far from the harbour; indeed you may find yourself spending
much of your day and evening by the water.
Café Victor CAFE
( www.cafevictor.no ; Kirkengaten 5; light meals Nkr74-139;
10am-midnight Jun-Aug, 10am-5pm
Mon-Thu, 10am-11pm Fri, 10am-7pm Sat Sep-May)
Café Victor, with its prime waterfront position and interesting antique ceiling, is a nice
place for lunch, with good coffee and generous open sandwiches. Or if you happen to be
here on a Friday night, stop by for its cheese menu.
Blom Restaurant SEAFOOD
(
37 00 14 14; www.blomrestaurant.no ; Lang-brygge 5; mains Nkr289-299;
4-10pm Mon-Sat,
3-8pm Sun)
The most upmarket of the Pollen harbour crowd, Blom provides a respite from the boozy
vibe that sometimes wins at the other waterside bars. Dishes such as grilled scallops and
smoked mackerel salad are tasty.
Madam Reiersen NORWEGIAN, INTERNATIONAL
( 37 02 19 00; madamreiersen.no ; Nedre Tyholmsvei 3; lunch mains Nkr99-159, dinner mains
Nkr219-260; 11am-2am Mon-Sat, 2pm-2am Sun)
A happy, kooky, bright space along the Pollen harbour that morphs into a pub and live-mu-
sic venue depending on the night. The menu reads like so many others - mussels, fish
soup, spare ribs, roast fish, pasta - but the saucing is subtle and the fish and meat are top
quality.
No.9 Kaffe & Platebar CAFE
(
37 02 77 92; www.no9.no ; Langbrygge 9;
10am-5pm Mon-Sat, open later for events)
