Comparing the New File and drag-and-drop options
The drag-and-drop option is quicker and simpler than using New File, because it skips the two steps shown in
Figures 5.1 and 5.2. However, for certain file types, the New File option reveals extra features that aren't avail-
able with drag-and-drop.
For example, Figure 5.6 shows the extra check boxes that appear if you use New File to add a view controller to
an iOS project. In this example you can use these check boxes to create an iPad-compatible class, with an asso-
ciated nib file. If you use drag-and-drop, these options don't appear.
