Prices in Saariselkä's hotels are highest during the ski season and ruska (late August to
mid-September). Here, as in other parts of Finland, there are many rural cabins and cot-
tages for rent. Ask at the Kiehinen nature centre, or browse the Lomarengas website.

commodation service that can organise a wide range of cabins, cottages and apartments in
and around the village.

A friendly village pub offers good accommodation in a variety of buildings around it, in
the heart of Saariselkä. Rooms are spacious and warm, with bathroom and comfortable
beds; they're an absolute steal in summer. There are also log cabins and apartments with
sauna. A simple breakfast is served in winter only.

Lapland's largest hotel, this complex sprawls across several buildings, including the very
appealing Gielas, but hasn't lost sight of its roots as a solid old place with excellent ser-
vice. There are numerous grades of rooms and apartments (all but the standards come with
their own sauna); the most modern are the enticing superiors and junior suites. Prices drop
in summer.
It's right by the trailhead for the national park.
Holiday Club Saariselkä SPA HOTEL

In the centre of the village, this spa hotel is most family-friendly and a good choice in
winter or summer. The rooms are gradually being renovated, so grab one of the new ones
(same price), which have comfy chairs, trendy greys and magentas, and a backlit photo of
old Lapland.
