Across the river from the town centre, this campground has a sauna and good showers as
well as a riverside cafe-bar. Cabins, discreetly angled for privacy, are simple but spacious,
with a fridge and camp stove; there are also cottage apartments with their own kitchen and
sauna. You can hire bikes here.

Five hundred metres north of the town centre, this family-run guesthouse has small but
spotless rooms with wire storage units and other comfortable Ikea-type furniture. Guests
share decent bathrooms and have use of a lounge and kitchen facilities (there's a big super-
market across the road). Price includes breakfast, sauna, tea and coffee.

This central hotel is Sodankylä's best option, offering decent rooms with grey-wood floors
and modern bathrooms. Some single rooms come with a cute mini-sauna. The restaurant
does OK lunches (€9) and dinners (€15).

Cosy and homelike, this is the best eating spot in town, with soups, quiches, cakes, good
coffee and streetside seating. It does cheap lunches and tasty à la carte meals with local
muikku
(vendace, or whitefish, a small lake fish) and reindeer.

This is Sodankylä's best pub, though, like in any Lapland bar, there are always a few
shamblers about.
