KITTILÄ
One of northwestern Lapland's main service centres, Kittilä is the gateway for the ski re-
sorts of Ylläs and Levi. Although Kittilä is the regional centre, Levi is now, in fact, so popu-
lar, that their roles have been effectively reversed. Daily flights operate between Helsinki
and Kittilä, as do winter charters from the UK and elsewhere. The airport is 4km north of
Kittilä. Four to five daily buses run between Rovaniemi and Kittilä (€31.40, two hours). All
continue to Levi.
