At the base of the lifts on Ruka's main square, this cavernous wooden hall has several at-
tractive dining areas and good service. Dishes range from burgers to well-prepared meat
dishes. Service is helpful. Things get pretty lively at the bar with regular bands during ski
season.

This year-round central bar's big glassed-in terrace packs out at night in the ski season and
has its own fast-food kiosk. There's karaoke nightly, regular live music and a general vibe
of pissed-up goodwill.

This large visitor centre is at the highway junction, 2km from central Kuusamo. There's
comprehensive tourist information, rental cottage booking and a cafe-shop. Hours vary
through the year; there's also a wildlife photography exhibition and national park informa-
tion desk here.
