An Oulu classic, this timbered inn on Pikisaari was once a sugar warehouse and has out-
door tables that have good views of the centre. It's an attractive spot to eat, with no-frills
traditional dishes, including reindeer, and a selection of more upmarket plates. It's also a
nice place for a few beers away from the bustle of the city but just a few steps from it.

Oulu highlight. There are some outstanding flavour combinations and a variety of degusta-

In an old warehouse near the kauppatori, this classy spot combines chic Finnish style with
a traditional setting. The terrace by the water is one of Oulu's loveliest summer spots.

This stylishly decorated place in the heart of things is a rather good Turkish restaurant with
plenty of vegetarian options, great meze selections and succulent chargrilled meat. Service
is excellent, though the food's somewhat overpriced.
Drinking & Nightlife
There's plenty going on at night. The kauppatori is the spot to start in summer: bars set in
traditional wooden warehouses have terraces that lick up every last drop of the evening
sun.
