Getting There & Around
There are regular buses to Jakobstad from Vaasa (€22, 1¾ hours), Kokkola (€8.20, 45
minutes) and other west coast towns.
Bennäs (Finnish: Pännäinen), 11km away, is the closest train station. A shuttle bus
(€3.90, 15 minutes) meets arriving trains.
Kokkola-Pietarsaari airport is 30km northeast of Jakobstad; buses (€9.40, 25 minutes)
meet arriving flights.
Fäboda
About 8km west of Jakobstad, Fäboda's small sandy beaches framed by rocky inlets and
thick forests offer idyllic swimming, sunbathing, surfing and windsurfing. Take care cyc-
ling here as the country road is narrow and winding.
