Provinssirock MUSIC

Held 4km south of town, near Törnävä, over two days in late June, this open-air rock con-
cert sees international acts duel with top Finnish bands from across the musical spectrum
(David Bowie and the Black Eyed Peas have held the same stage as HIM and the Rasmus).
Festival buses run from Seinäjoki's train station (€3; cash only).
Tangomarkkinat DANCE

Seinäjoki is the undisputed tango capital of a country that is certifiably tango-mad, and
enormous crowds descend on this international festival in early July. The first heels are
kicked up at a huge open-air dance party in 'Tango Street', followed by five days of dance
competitions, tango classes and other festivities.
Sleeping & Eating
Book accommodation well in advance for Seinäjoki's summer festivals. Central chain ho-
tels include Cumulus and Sokos.
Aside from reliable hotel restaurants, Seinäjoki has limited dining options but a gastro-
nomic stand-out.
