BUS
Lappeenranta's bus station is 1.2km south of the city centre; most intercity buses also stop
on Valtakatu in the middle of town. Bus 9 (€3) runs between the bus station and the city
centre.

Joensuu (€43.90, 4½ hours, two daily)
Mikkeli (€24, 1¾ hours, eight daily)

TRAIN
Intercity trains use Lappeenranta train station, next to the bus station 1.2km south of town.
Services include Helsinki (€47.20, two hours, eight daily), Imatra (€8.60, 25 minutes, five
daily) and Joensuu (€41.20, two hours, four daily).
International trains to/from Russia use Vainikkala train station, 29.5km south of Lap-
peenranta, linked by bus (€6.80, 40 minutes, up to 10 daily) from the bus station and Val-
takatu in town. Trains run to Vyborg (€31.80, 25 minutes, five daily) and St Petersburg
(€47.80, 1½ hours), as well as Moscow (€76.40, 10¼ hours, one overnight service daily).

TO/FROM THE AIRPORT
Bus 4 (€3.30) links the city centre and the airport.
