On Linnansaari island in Linnansaari National Park, this campground offers a sauna, cook-
ing places and (from late June to mid-August) a kiosk-cafe. Cabins sleep up to four; you
can take a bed on a dorm basis (€20). Camping is free outside of high summer. Several
smaller islands also have designated campgrounds.

Beautifully set by the river in Oravi, the eastern access point for Linnansaari National
Park, this excellent facility, as well as providing everything necessary to get on the water
(or ice), offers comfortable accommodation. As well as upmarket holiday villas, it has a
cracking modern hotel. The rooms have kitchen, drying cabinet and free sauna use; it's
cheaper outside July.
There's an attractive waterside restaurant in summer and a year-round cafe-shop. Canoe
hire costs €32/149 per day/week, all included. It also runs guided trips.

At Porosalmi, an embarkation point for Linnansaari National Park, this impressive
medieval-themed holiday village offers a big variety of accommodation, mostly in log cot-
tages which, despite the old-time look, feature plenty of modern comforts. It runs activities
and rents out all sorts of equipment. Good meals are available in the atmospheric restaur-
ant: don't miss the unusual wine cellar.
