This restaurant has a deck-like terrace, fitting the nautical theme (the name means 'light-
house'). Local meat and fish specialities are tasty, generously sized and fairly priced, and
the select-your-own appetiser plate is a nice touch. It's child-friendly too.
Linnakrouvi
FINNISH

Closest to Olavinlinna Castle, this is the best of the summertime food options that cater to
the pre- and post-opera crowd. This offers tiered outdoor seating, an attractive interior and
a range of fare, running from upmarket, tasty sandwiches and burgers to more elaborate
fish and meat dishes with a gourmet flourish.
Liekkilohi
FISH
This bright-red pontoon, anchored just off the kauppatori, specialises in 'flamed' salmon, a
delicious plate that you can have on its own (€20) or as part of a fish buffet.
Olutravintola Sillansuu
PUB
Savonlinna's best pub is compact and cosy, offering an excellent variety of international
bottled beers, a decent whisky selection and friendly service. There's a downstairs area
with a pool table; during the opera festival amateur (and sometimes professional) arias are
sung as the beer kegs empty.
