A standout lake trip, century-old M/S
Puijo
travels from Savonlinna to Kuopio on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am (one way €90, 10½ hours), returning on Tuesday,
Thursday and Saturday. The boat passes through scenic waterways, canals and locks, stop-
ping en route at Oravi among others. You can book a return with overnight cabin accom-
modation for €175 or get a same-day bus back (€130 return).
