Pleasing for both eye and stomach, the 'gingerbread house' occupies a 1906 shingled
house once home to artist Albert Edelfeldt; the interior still has a warm, domestic feel.

BOAT
Boats cruise to Tampere via Visavuori in summer.
BUS
Hourly buses between Helsinki (€17, 1½ hours) and Tampere (€12.60, one hour) stop in
Hämeenlinna. From Turku, there are several buses daily (€29.90, two hours).
TRAIN
The train station is 1km from the town centre, across the bridge. Hourly trains between
Helsinki (€21 to €26, one hour) and Tampere (€19 to €22, 40 minutes) stop here. From
Turku, change in Toijala.
